This class is not a part of Math 233 and will have its own HW assignments and exams. The HW will be posted on the class website www.math.umass.edu/~tevelev/calc2008.html It will be collected each week on Tuesday (or during the next class meeting if there is no class on Tuesday). No late homework will be accepted. I can not guarantee that all problems in your HW will be graded. However, you won't receive the full credit for the HW unless you solve all assigned problems. Two worst HW grades will be dropped.

There will be two midterms, tentatively scheduled for Oct 16 and Nov 20. Make sure to be around for midterms and the final. Travel plans will not be accomodated. The final grade will be 25% Exam 1, 25% Exam 2, 30% Final Exam, 15% HW and 5% Class Participation.

Calculators are useful auxiliary tools for the course. However, it will be expected that you can work all of the problems without the aid of a calculator. Calculators will be permitted on the exams, but it will be expected that all non-arithmetic work is present and explained in your answer. No advice will be given on choosing a calculator and exams will be designed to give no advantage to people who use calculators.
