Exam conflict and make-up
|
A final exam conflict exists when, according to the official exam schedule, you have another final at the same time as the Math 421 exam and the five-digit class number of Math 421 has a higher last digit than the class number of the other course.
In that case:
- obtain written certification of the conflict from the Registrar’s Office, 213 Whitmore; and
- two weeks before the final exam—that is, by Monday, December 4—give me the written certification along with the name(s) of the instructor in the course creating the conflict. Include a copy of your entire final exam schedule.
After I verify the information—including contacting the instructor of the other course to confirm that the conflicting exam is actually being given as scheduled, I will let you know the time and place of the make-up.
The make-up may have to be scheduled as late as the last day of final exams, Saturday, Dec. 23. I will do my best to schedule a make-up so that it does not create another final exam conflict. This is one of the reasons I need the advance notic from you of a final exam conflict.
Should the make-up time also be a conflict, you will need to request an Incomplete and then take a special make-up exam at the start of the Spring semester.
