Math 421: Computer facilities

You will be using either or both of the following computer lab facilities, where both Mathematica and David Park’s DrawGraphics and Cardano3 add-on packages are installed.

Mathematics and Statistics Resource Center (LGRT 110)

Some class sessions, including exams, may be held at the Resource Center. No special account is needed to use it.  But that facility is not available for individual use in Math 421 outside class meetings.

UMASTR Lab (Du Bois Library 1667)

You may use UMASTR Lab for your individual computer work.

For current UMASTR hours, follow the Lab Hours link on the OIT/PCCO web site (http://www-pcco.oit.umass.edu).  To make sure the lab is not reserved for a class, follow the Scheduled Classes link at that same web site.

To use UMASTR, even for an exam or scheduled class meeting, you need an OIT UMAccess computer account.

To check the schedule and other information about the lab, consult the UMASTR web site:

For your own individual use of Mathematica (e.g., to do some homework problems), you may use any OIT public PC or Mac lab, at all of which Mathematica and Park’s packages are available.
