The UMass chapter of the AWM was founded in 2016. The chapter seeks to support women in the mathematical sciences at UMass by building a community of support and intellectual engagement. The chapter aims to help women reach their full academic and intellectual potentials by providing opportunities for women to: engage with their peers intellectually, mentor each other, and network with mathematicians and statisticians from both UMass and other institutions.
