Required textbook
The required textbook from which daily reading will be assigned and from which suggested problems are taken is:
- Hughes-Hallett, Gleason, Lock, Flath et al., Applied Calculus, 2nd edition, John Wiley & Sons, 2003.
This is available from the Textbook Annex in either a shrink-wrapped, loose-leaf page custom version (packaged with a Student Solutions Manual) or a standard bound version.
Calculator
You should have access to a graphing scientific calculator for homework and exams. Recommended are the Texas Instruments:
- TI-83 Plus or
- TI-85 (no longer made) or
- TI-86
(If you are going to take a substantial amount of post-calculus math courses, a TI-89 is recommended).
