Out of consideration for others (including your instructor), please observe the following common-sense “rules of etiquette” in the classroom:

• Except in the case of real emergency, get to class on time and do not leave until class activities for the day have ended.
   
• If you absolutely must come late or leave early, do so as quietly and unobtrusively as possible. Do not walk across the front of the room!
   
• Once class has begun, do not come up to retrieve any handout or returned paper (wait until class ends).
   
• Turn off watch alarms.
   
• Turn off cell phones and other communications devices  (Exception: student firefighters, EMTs, and others on emergency call—please notify your instructor.)
   
• If you bring a laptop/notebook computer to class, sit in the back of the room so that your typing does not disturb anybody.
