OWL Homework:

Part of the 20% of your grade given for homework is obtained using the OWL computer homework system.

The nature of this system will be explained in class. It is the same system used in Chemistry and several other departments. The following is a tentative schedule of the lectures in the entire course.

Each OWL assignment will be opened in the system approximately 1 day before the lecture is given and willcloseon a day specified in the assignment. The firstassignment will be open for about two weeks in order to give you time to become familiar with OWL and subsequent assignments will be open for shorter periods so that a few weeks into the semester each assignment will be open for around five days. Before each evening exam, the OWL assignments will be reopened for a few days so that you can make up any missed homework.
