The homework assignments on the Online Web-based Learning (OWL) system are mandatory.

There will be two types of assignments on OWL:

Pre-Class OWL assignments:
You will be expected to

• Read, prior to each class, the sections in the text to be covered.
• Complete a short Pre-Class assignment on OWL. You will get 2 points for each completed Pre-Class assignment. Five lowest Pre-Class assignment grades will be dropped.




• Regular OWL assignments:
  These will be weekly assignments, each consisting off several units. You will earn 10 points for each unit mastered by the due date. Your three lowest regular assignment grades will be dropped.

Occasionally, additional homework will be assigned (mostly from old exams and from the suggested list). They will not be collected. However, you are supposed to do them by the date they are due and bring to class the solutions of all problems assigned. We'll have four to six quizzes based on these homework problems. These quizzes will consist of two or three multiple choice questions derived from assigned homework problems. That is, I take randomly chosen homework question(s) and convert them into multiple choice questions. Each quiz will take place at the end of the hour on the last 15 minutes.
You are expected to consult your own homework solutions during each quiz.
Each quiz will worth between 20 to 30 points.
There will be no make-up quizzes
Your lowest quiz grade will be dropped.
