Syllabus: This course is an introduction to ordinary differential equations. The topics covered in this class are
- First order linear and nonlinear equations: analytic and geometric methods, qualitative analysis.
- Systems of linear differential equations: eigenvalues and eigenvectors, phase portraits.
- Second order differential equations. Forcing and resonances.
- Laplace transform methods.
Prerequisites are Math 132, corequisite are Math 233.

Grading : There is a final exam worth 1/3 of the grade and one midterm exam also worth 1/3 of the grade. Homework will be assigned weekly, collected and graded, the 10 best homework will be used to compute the last third of your grade. No late homework, no really.

Exam schedule : There will one midterm exam and one final exam. The material covered in the first midterm will be announced in due time. The final exam is comprehensive but
will cover mostly the material of the second half of the semester.
