About UMASTR Lab

What is UMASTR? UMASTR is the Mathematics and Statistics Department’s undergraduate computer lab. On the PCs running Windows NT there you will find the Mathematica software we use in Math 236. Student consultants are on duty to help you (but not with how to program in Mathematica). The software includes complete documentation on-line.

Where is it? UMASTR is in Du Bois Library 1667.

To use UMASTR, even for an exam or scheduled class meeting, you need an OIT UMAccess computer account.

When is UMASTR open? .  Starting Monday, Feb. 5, it is normally open:

Monday–Thursday                9:00 a.m.–11:30 p.m.
Friday                                   9:00 a.m.– 5:00 p.m.
Saturday                               closed
Sunday                                 1:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m.

Whenever it is not reserved for a class, one of the side rooms at UMASTR is reserved exclusively for students in Math 236 and a number of other Math/Stat courses.
