This web site contains information pertinent to all sections of Math 235. Individual instructors might have their own sites pertinent to their own sections.

Text and Online homework:   MyMathLab is required for this course. Your purchase of MyMathLab includes the e-Text "Linear Algebra and its Applications" (5th ed) by David Lay, et al. You can go to www.mymathlab.com and use the Course ID which the instructor will give you to purchase access at a special reduced price of $75.00. This is not a rental price, but ownership of the e-Text in perpetuity. You may also purchase a physical book with MyMathLab at Amazon.com. You have the choice of the hardcover with MyMathLab ($125.13) or a loose leaf version with MyMathLab ($117.33). Calculator:   Calculators will not be allowed in the exams. You may use calculators to check your homework solutions, but credit will be given only for answers showing all your steps (unless mentioned otherwise in the assignment).

Common Exams (75%):   There will be three common exams: two midterms and a final. These will be given and graded in common. Each exam is worth 25% of the course grade.

Common midterms dates:  To be announced.
Final Exam:   To be scheduled during the final exams period. Make-ups will not be given to accomodate travel plans.

Instructor's Grade (25%):   Each instructor will determine 25% of the student's grade based on the student's performance in the class (e.g., homeworks, quizzes, class attendance and participation).

The score on each of the three parts (Common midterms, Final Exam, and Instructor's Grade) will be scaled to the 0-100 scale. The average of these grades will determine the course letter grade.
